Technology innovators are getting ready for the return of Mobile World Congress

Some of Ireland’s most innovative technology firms are set to take their place at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona later this month.

The event, which runs from February 28 to March 3, is the world’s largest mobile technology event.

It brings together the latest innovations in cutting-edge technology from around the globe.

Always hotly anticipated, interest this year is greater than ever. That’s because in 2020 it was one of the first major trade events to be shuttered by the pandemic. Last year it held a scaled back version of itself.

The return of the congress, in what will be one of the first major events to take place since Covid, is generating enormous excitement across the industry.

The Ireland Pavilion will feature six Enterprise Ireland-supported exhibitors. These companies, all active in the mobile communications space, will highlight Irish capability on a global scale.

Their products or services cover a broad spectrum of solutions, capable of meeting the rapidly changing demands of the mobile technology and the wider communications sector.

With over 1500 exhibitors, the event represents an unrivalled opportunity for Irish companies to get in front of their market, to showcase their capability, raise brand awareness and gain invaluable exposure on a world stage.

After the challenges of the past two years those exhibiting are excited to get back out there, to resume face-to-face meetings, to network and to gain exposure to potential new partners.

All have scheduled back-to-back meetings over the duration of the exhibition, to ensure they maximise every opportunity this show affords them.

Among the leading-edge companies exhibiting at The Ireland Pavilion are established Enterprise Ireland client companies, including Benetel, a provider of leading-edge radio solutions for 5G. They work with leading vendors, partners, and open initiatives, such as the O-RAN ALLIANCE.

It also includes Cubic Telecom, deliverer of internet of things (IoT) solutions to the automotive, agriculture, and transport manufacturing industries. Its platform, PACE, is already used by leading companies around the world such as Audi, Microsoft and CNH Industrial.

Fellow exhibitor Druid Software is a leader in 5G and 4G cellular technology. Its RAEMIS platform is used by internet service providers and enterprises for mission critical environments all over the world.

Also present will be Endeavour Technology, the global leader in IoT and 5G service assurance. Its nSpire software as a service platform ensures continuously reliable connectivity for customers around the globe.

Exhibiting alongside these established players will be early-stage companies such as Ringotel.

Its highly innovative platform turns any VoIP phone system into a cutting-edge unified communication solution without changing existing infrastructure, adding MS Teams-style functionality to an existing phone system in minutes.

Software Radio Systems develops open software for mobile radio wireless networks. Its high-performance software radio solutions for 4G and 5G, with complete UE and RAN applications, support the creation of new mobile services.

In addition to those on the Ireland Pavilion, seven more Enterprise Ireland-supported companies will attend the Barcelona congress.

After having spent two years maintaining business relationships remotely, for them too it’s a keenly anticipated opportunity to meet existing clients and develop new ones.

It’s also an invaluable chance to showcase their latest offerings and to benchmark their solutions against others across the global marketplace.

Mobile connectivity solutions span all industries and all verticals.

The advancement and roll-out of 5G will drive this even further, transforming our lives whether through smart cities or smart transport, through fintech or industrial IoT, or through any of the endless possibilities not yet even imagined.

What takes place at the Mobile World Congress will likely impact all of us at some stage, simply because we live in such a connected society.

To any company interested in cutting-edge connectivity solutions I’d say come visit the Ireland Pavilion Stand – and see what the future holds.
